Come hear Berklee students and faculty in a culminating concert and send-off as they prepare for a week-long residency in New York City, where they will perform at Carnegie Hall as part of MidAmerica Productions’ 43rd anniversary concert season.The program features a repertoire of big band vocal arrangements accompanied by a jazz chamber ensemble. The music spans classic, traditional, and contemporary jazz, with works by composers such as Hale Smith; John Coltrane; Jimmy Heath; Lambert, Hendricks & Ross; Stevie Wonder; Quincy Jones; and the ensemble’s conductor, Dr. Lenora Helm Hammonds, dean of the Professional Education Division.
Hammonds is joined by Berklee faculty members Mimi Jones (bass) and Patrice Williamson (voice), along with additional Berklee faculty and special guest members of the Tribe Jazz Orchestra.
