Tune in to a free concert from Berhana on Thursday, Aug. 21 as he brings his signature hip-hop sound to Occidental Square as part of our Downtown Summer Sounds series.Berhana is intentional about not only his craft, but his identity. The singer-songwriter is based in LA but was born near Atlanta, raised in a community centered on his Ethiopian roots. Berhana’s dreamy signature sound merges East African instrumentalisation and Ethio-jazz melodies with hip hop, R&B, jazz and funk elements. The result? A uniquely holistic sound that melds his experience being raised as a child of the African diaspora with the authenticity of his life today.
