Welcome to the eight edition of Bergen Embrace, in a city famous for its natural beauty and welcoming tango community! Take some extra days in the area to explore the fiords, mountains and waterfalls, and to get to know the natives. And don’t miss the Monday special event; the icing on the cake, the glitter on the donut, the extra cheese on the pizza, the happy ending: La fiordlonga.Registration will start in January (stay tuned).
We strive for an inclusive environment where all participants treat each other with respect and generosity. Dual role dancers, leaders and followers of all genders, ages, sizes and ethnicities are warmly welcome! This is a role balanced event for close embrace lovers, where we use mirada/cabeceo and clear the floor and change partner during cortinas. It’s neither a marathon nor an encuentro, but a unique wonder that picks the best from both traditions.
We will dance in Grand Hotel Terminus’ excellent large wooden floor hall, with a cemetery just outside, right in the centre of Bergen. Participants may choose to sleep and eat (and die) at this hotel, for a discounted price. Other sleeping options will be posted in the participants' group.
The Monday "Fiordlonga" is something that many Embracers have said is magnificent. So take this extra day to explore the fiords by boat and dance by the waterside. You will not regret it!
