We’re back with more live music, more dancing, and more joy!! Benny Amóns New Orleans Pearls is the hottest and most authentic New Orleans dancehall style jazz band in the SF Bay Area.
The Band formed in New Orleans in 2018 with the best of the best of the New Orleans Jazz Scene. The self-titled CD was released in 2019 to a packed audience at the World Famous Preservation Hall. That same year, Benny was nominated in the OffBeat Magazine Best of the Beat Awards in the category of Best Emerging Artist and Benny Amón's New Orleans Pearls was nominated in the best Traditional Jazz recording category. Shows followed at the New Orleans Jazz Museum and as Spotlight Artists at the 2020 Folk Alliance International Conference.
When Benny moved back to the Bay Area in 2022, he re-launched the band with the best of the best of the New Orleans jazz scene in the SF Bay Area. In the Bay Area, Benny Amóns New Orleans Pearls are very popular with dancers looking for authentic New Orleans second line rhythms to dance to. They have also had successful engagements in listening rooms and restaurants throughout the Bay Area including Mr. Tipples Jazz Club, Bird & Beckett, and Tasting House Los Gatos.
Benny Amón's New Orleans Pearls strives to create danceable and joyful jazz in the spirit of the great New Orleans revival bands including Bunk Johnson, Sidney Bechet, George Lewis, and many more.
