Benjamin Daniel is an independent Christian singer-songwriter based out of Los Angeles, CA. When asked which artists he is most similar to, he listed Andrew Peterson, Sufjan Stevens, Manchester Orchestra, and Death Cab for Cutie. If you would love to hear an acoustic set from any of those artists, you should make sure to catch this show!
A Georgia native, Benjamin began writing songs in his twenties. His critically-acclaimed sophomore album Shelterheart was produced by Asher Peterson and named album of the year by critics at Jesus Freak Hideout.com -- beating out albums by Switchfoot, NEEDTOBREATHE and The Arcadian Wild . Shelterheart is a tender folk rock record about community and brotherhood in an increasingly divided Church.
His next record, Home Enough for Now, is a somber meditation on grief in the days following the loss of his mother and was included on The Gospel Coalition's "Best Christian Music of 2023" list. It features several Christian songwriters who have also played at Havenwood: Skye Peterson and folk duo Kenny & Claire.
Benjamin will be coming to Havenwood after playing at Audiofeed Festival and releasing his latest album on July 5. Although Benjamin is always writing new songs, his greatest love is for Christ and His people. The time he spends not doing music, which is most of his time, he works full-time as a financial aid counselor at a private Christian university in the Los Angeles area and is active in his local church. His greatest prayer in music is that it would allow his mundane life to be a glorious testimony to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
