I’ve been playing piano since I was 11, and the accordion more recently, and have enjoyed playing all kinds of music. In recent years, I’ve been playing more and more jazz music, improvising, and creating music.My compositions are all inspired by experiences I’ve had in life - I’m terrible with words so I use music to ‘write’ how I feel. Before moving to Wellington I was in a couple of bands down in Wanaka - a year of my life that was full of all sorts of ups and downs. Every time I sat to write at my piano it reflected a time I wasn't quite sure how to feel, but my music reflected it for me. I hope those listening can feel that too.
Beyond my move to Wellington I hope to make music a bigger part of my life; share it, play with more people. I find it so fulfilling to play - why wouldn't I?
