On April 11th, Friends of the Jewell Family will be hosting a Spaghetti Supper at St. Anthony’s Hall at St. Mary’s Catholic Church to help raise funds for Butch and his family as they face mounting medical expenses. The Knights of Columbus will be cooking the meal, but additional volunteers are needed to help with the dinner, and homemade desserts are also greatly appreciated.
Butch recently underwent a procedure where stents were placed, but due to complications he will need additional repair surgery sometime next month. He is also now facing lifelong dialysis treatments.
Discharge planning has been extremely stressful for Butch and his family as they prepare for significant changes ahead. For a period of time, he will need to wear a cardiac life vest, and his daily life will be dramatically impacted by ongoing treatments and medical care.
He remains at high medical risk, and the family is now facing substantial medical debt as a result of these health challenges.
In the coming months, Butch will require transportation to dialysis three times each week, frequent trips to Bangor for cardiac follow-up appointments, and modifications and equipment at home to ensure a safe and functional living environment. Unfortunately, many of these needs will not be covered by the medical insurance they have faithfully paid into over the years.
This dinner is being held to help ease the financial burden on Butch and his family during this incredibly difficult time.
If you are able to help by volunteering, donating a dessert, or simply attending the supper, your support would be deeply appreciated.
