Live music, drinks, friends, and a good boogie in an effort to raise funds and awareness on behalf of Driving Ukraine.From November 20th to the 23rd, I will drive 1,318 miles over 3 days across Europe to deliver an evacuation 4x4 vehicle to Ukraine, where it will be donated for work on the Ukrainian frontlines. Inspired by one of my courses at St Andrews, The Anthropology of Political Violence, I will use this experience to create an auto ethnographic project for my final assignment in the course. Writing a reflective essay, I will use myself as a point of data collection to explore the creation of the state, how it’s reinforced through border security and the categories of “citizen” vs “non-citizen.”
I look forward to applying what I’ve learned in the classroom to real-world humanitarian action.
