The Louisville Folk School and 91.9 WFPK proudly present the 2026 Folk Musicians in Residence: Spring Concert Series! Louisville Folk School's Folk Musicians in Residence program brings nationally-recognized folk and traditional artists to Louisville. During their stay, musicians perform at four elementary schools throughout the week and end their stay with a public-facing concert as part of the Spring Concert Series. We’re excited to bring you another season of unforgettable live music.All shows are first-come, first-seated with doors at 6:00 pm and performances at 7:00 pm. Shows at Filson Historical Society will have a cash bar by West Sixth Brewing. For these ticketed concerts, we highly recommend purchasing in advance, as we anticipate all four events could sell out.

Kentuckian Ben Sollee has distinguished himself as a multi-faceted creative, blurring the lines between music, tech, and activism. Since his debut record in 2008, Sollee has released 7 studio records and 8 EPs garnering praise from the New York Times and NPR. His music has been featured in tv shows such as Weeds and Parenthood. In addition, Sollee has a growing career as a composer for film, tv, and interactive media earning an Emmy Award in 2018 for his score on the ABC special, Base Ballet.
Heather Summers is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist living in New Albany, Indiana. In 2018, she recorded an album as one half of the duo The Other Years, whose repertoire features original songs inspired by tunes of the old-time tradition. When performing solo, she performs old-time ballads, solo banjo songs, and original songs.
