The Old Glory Chapter, NSDAR, cordially invites you to the dedication of the Benjamin Franklin historical marker and the unveiling of Ben on the Bench, a bronze statue by acclaimed sculptor George Lundeen.In the spirit of Benjamin Franklin—printer, inventor, statesman, and namesake of Franklin, Tennessee—this America250 commemoration also honors his friendship with Dr. Hugh Williamson, namesake of Williamson County and fellow signer of the U.S. Constitution.
Formal program includes:
• Statue unveiling and NSDAR marker dedication
• Fife and drum music
• Color Guard presentation and ceremonial musket salute led by the Lt. Andrew Crockett Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution
• Ceremonial cake cutting
• Photo opportunities and informal mingling
Following the ceremony:
• Birthday cake reception
• SAR-sponsored Patriot Box with hands-on activities for children
👒 Children are encouraged to “Dress Like Ben or Betsy Ross” in colonial attire.
