Casual retreat for everyone who misses seeing each other multiple times a year at CGOA, TKGA, TNNA, and STITCHES events.
This will be a laid-back event with plenty of time to catch up with each other while crocheting, knitting, playing games, and maybe even seeing some of Nashville.
We’ll have a meeting room on the 11th floor with a fabulous north-facing view towards downtown Nashville.
Retreat cost: $80 payable to SPARKLE Studio (payment link coming soon) to cover cost hotel expenses and daily coffee, tea, sodas, and snacks
Hotel room cost: $135 + tax/fees per night for a 1K or 2Q room.
CONCERNS: To make this happen without me being stuck paying the hotel a lot of money, I need a minimum commitment of 21 people to come, and we’ll need to have a minimum of 30 sleeping room nights reserved.
The hotel room commitment is the scary part. The contract requires payment for 80% of those 30 nights (plus the full amount of the meeting). That would be 24 rooms x roughly $155 = $3,720. If we only had enough attendees for 6 reserved rooms per night, 18 total coming to $2,790, I’d end up having to pay the hotel the difference of nearly $1,000.
I love you all dearly, but I can’t take that much of a personal finance hit to see you again!
So, please help me spread the word of this reunion around to everyone in your group of friends. Send the event link to your groups, chapters, friends, what have you. I’ll create a post where people can indicate their serious intent to come, so tell everyone to be sure to read the posts on the event page.
I have a week before I have to sign the contract, so let’s see if we get enough firm commitments to come. If we end up with more people coming than I need to cover expenses, maybe the extra could pay for us all to Uber to downtown Nashville one night or towards a good lunch out somewhere.
