About this Event

Ben & Jerry's Newbury Street Scoop Shops and peasoupATTACK will host a Holiday Ice Cream, Art & Music Event on Saturday, December 9th, from 2:00 - 3:30 PM EST.We are excited to provide a free and family fun festival for all ages to give back to the community during the Holiday Season!

Linda Khachadurian is a Beirut-born medical editor, edible artist, activist, instructor, and international educational nonprofit founder. Her edible art has been sold at retailers such as UncommonGoods and displayed everywhere, from multiple East Coast galleries to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in LA to the Marriott Marquis in NYC. She’s also collaborated with Ben & Jerry’s Boston and the New England Botanic Gardens. Learn more about Linda’s edible art projects and classes here: www.LKSweetArt.com (formerly Chipper Confections).

All holiday tree proceeds will go to the Yerevan-based Avedisian School, in which Linda is implementing two virtual lecture programs via Charitable Confections – the volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) public charity she founded that assists educational nonprofits in Armenia and Haiti: http://www.charitableconfections.org/ .The Avedisian School is housed in an eco-friendly, state-of-the-art building that provides a diverse and sophisticated curriculum to youth who live in the low-income Malatia-Sebastia district of Yerevan. It has also recently taken in 40 refugee children who were part of the September mass exodus from Artsakh. The school was built and is maintained by the Armenian Missionary Association of America, which is one of the world’s oldest and largest Armenian aid organizations.

Linda will use Ben & Jerry's ice cream and other edible items from the Scoop Shop, such as waffle cones, fudge, and cookie dough, to create the four-foot-tall holiday tree.

At the beginning of the festival, Linda will provide a mini-presentation about how she used supplemental edible mediums such as rice paper and ruby chocolate to craft ornaments to decorate the tree.

At 3:15 PM, the shop will reveal the tree for all to view and take photos beside before carving into it! Each scoop of ice cream from the tree will retail for $6; the edible ornaments will also be available for purchase for those seeking unique – and tasty – holiday décor for their homes. 100% of the sale prices will go to the Avedisian School.

During the event, we will have Noble Dust provide holiday music, and opportunities to win prizes and fun treats by playing Ben & Jerry's trivia with our MC, KimVy, and Taylor- Made-in-the-USA! Noble Dust will play their new album, A Picture in the Frame!

The event starts at 2:00 PM EST and ends at 3:30 PM EST, and will be filled with sweet treats, trivia, giveaways, and more!

Agenda:

2:00 - 2:15 PM - Introduction & Ben & Jerry's Trivia
