About this Event

hosted by Sarah Rayne

Beltane, or May Day is celebrated on May 1st on the Wheel of the Year. Halfway between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice, this day marks a celebration of life, fertility, warmth, and abundance. Taking place in the heart of Taurus season as the days are warming and the flowers are blooming, this is a time to partake in the joy + pleasure of being a human in relationship with the earth and the world around us!

This potent 2 hour group ceremony will begin with a talk on Beltane, taurus season, abundance, and the gift of being in a body. We will move through a moving meditation + gentle somatic dance to invoke our pleasure + playful sides and connect us with the energy of our faery friends. We will then be crafting flower crowns! (We’ll have a mixture of fake flowers + real herbs and flowers available, and we encourage you to bring your own special flowers + herbs to add in as well). After we’ve created our crowns, we’ll transition outside for some fire-side magic. We will crown a May Queen, add our personal magic to the ceremonial lighting of the beltane bonfire, and sing and dance around the fire in all our finery! We’ll end with about 10-15 minutes for connection and refreshments outside. Feel free to bring a sweet treat to share with the group!

Honoring the changing of the seasons and the rhythms of the earth allows us to come into deeper connection and harmony with the natural cycles of ebb and flow that we travel through as the wheel of the year turns. This can help invite us into deeper connection with our own inner rhythms, and deep ancestral wisdom.

All are welcome - no experience necessary!
