About this Event
Rejoice for it is finally Beltane time !! Join us for a traditional May celebration! We will ring in the fertile times together over two nights of fun festivities... prepare yourself for a magik and fulfilling Spring ahead !
On Friday, May 1st, a lecture will be offered on ghosts and spirits in medieval times followed by a tour of the castle. This fascinating presentation is not merely about ghost stories – it’s about the myths that give a sense to our frail existence, transcending our human condition.
Afterwards, a traditional Beltane fire will be ignited in the backyard with dancing and fire-leaping, a ritual performed since times immemorial to purify and bless all gathered!
Saturday, May 2nd at noon, we will erect a maypole and dance around it in the traditional fashion. We will make flower baskets and flower crowns, and enjoy light refreshments and buns to celebrate the holiday, until 3PM.
Later on, at 5PM, Michael will offer a talk on the folklore of Beltane and teach participants how to make a charm to bless and protect the home.
The festivities will continue in outmost merriment with music and dancing until nighttime for the exciting midnight candle-lit exploration !
These events are all part of the Beltane programmation but ticketed separately. Do write us at [email protected] to ask us for a bundled reduction code if you would like to attend more than one of the weekend events !
