About this Event
Beltane or Bealtaine is the Gaelic fire festival honoring the beginning of summer, and marking the halfway point between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. A sabbat (or holiday) celebrating the fullness of nature in bloom and the creativity to be found in ecstatic self expression, Beltane is the counterpart to Samhain and thus a time when the veil between the seen and unseen is especially thin. Beltane is a time to dance around the bonfire (literally or figuratively) and remember that joy, play, and creativity are critical to bringing growth and change to our lives and the world around us! Join herbalist and folkloric Green Witch, Kathryn Cahill-Draper, for an afternoon of celebration, crafting, and community in honor of Beltane! Together we will craft our very own Beltane Windchime Wreaths, sip a bespoke herbal elixir, and participate in community ritual to honor the creative fires of this ancient fertility festival!
Kathryn Cahill-Draper is a professional Herbalist, Reproductive Health Doula, Reiki Master Teacher, and lifelong folkloric green witch. Educated in the Wise Woman Tradition by practitioners such as Robin Rose Bennet, 7Song La, Damiana Rose, and Jordan Stanton, Kathryn brings an eclectic perspective to the ways we can bridge the gap between the practical and the mystical aspects of herbalism.
