Beltane Celebration ♡ The Path of Rhiannon
Friday 1st May | 12 noon
Selhurst Woods, PO18 0JH
Picnic to follow
At Beltane, the veil softens and the living world shimmers with unseen presence. This is the sacred threshold between spring and summer, when fire and blossom meet, and life rises in fullness and desire. For pagans, Beltane is not only a celebration of fertility and growth, but a liminal moment, where the boundaries between worlds blur, and we are invited to walk in both.
This year, we gather in the woodland to honour Rhiannon, she who rides between realms.
In her story, Rhiannon appears at the edge of perception—riding her white horse, never hurried, never caught unless she wills it. She is sovereignty, mystery, and deep knowing. Though tested, silenced, and burdened, she endures—holding her truth until it is time to rise again. Like the Beltane fires that burn away illusion, her tale speaks of transformation, reclamation, and the quiet power of the soul that cannot be broken.
As the land awakens into abundance, so too does Rhiannon remind us of what lies beneath the surface—of the unseen currents guiding our path, and the call to step forward in our own truth and sovereignty.
Together, we will open sacred space by welcoming the directions, weaving our voices in blessing and chant. We will listen to Rhiannon’s story, allowing its echoes to move through us, and raise energy in honour of the season and the spirit of the goddess.
This is a shared and living ritual. All are welcome to step forward—if you feel called to offer a poem, song, or blessing, please get in touch beforehand. Words will be shared so that all may take part, whether quietly or in voice.
Afterwards, we will return gently to the earthly realm with a shared picnic beneath the trees.
Please bring:
A special hat, cloak, or robe
Rattles, drums, bells, or instruments
Food and drink to share
A cup and plate
A chair or blanket
Come walk the threshold with us,
between fire and flower,
between story and self,
between this world and the Other.
