The name Belly Dance is a western translation from the original Arabic name Raqs Sharqui simply meaning Oriental Dance. It originates in the Middle East and North Africa mainly Egypt Lebanon and Turkey as a social dance an integral part of those cultures. We dance mainly Egyptian “Raqs Sharqi” and Egyptian folklore to Egyptian music.
In these classes you’ll learn some of the fundamental movements of belly dance some of the history behind the dance few fun combos/short choreographies and the use of props such as veils and cane sticks.
