Belgian Beer Week is returning to Saccharomyces Beer Cafe bigger, bolder and with even more Belge! Get down the lane to experience over 40 different imported Belgian beers on tap, a heap of limited bottle pours and an extensive menu of Belgian inspired food. Running from July 15 to 21, the week kicks off with a low-key movie night and culminates in a weekend-long party. Clear your calendar folks. Check out the event summary below.Blind Belgians (Tasting) - Tuesday July 16 to Thursday July 18
From Tuesday to Thursday, we’ll have three beers of a particular Belgian beer style tapped, but not identifiable. One will be from an Australian brewery, two will be classic Belgian breweries. Your task is to correctly identify each beer to its brewery. Tuesday we’ll do Saisons, Wednesday will be Quads and Thursday we go Tripel.

Movie Monday: Bottle Conditioned - Monday July 18
What better way to start Belgian Beer Week? Lambic is the oldest continuously brewed style of beer and on Monday July 18, we are delving deep. Join us as we screen the captivating feature-length documentary, Bottle Conditioned. An exploration into the small Belgian community of lambic beer, where brewers and blenders of different generations wrestle with tradition and the increased demand for their rare beers. There will be 12 of the beers featured in the movie on tap and Sacch kitchen will launch its Belgian Beer Week menu. Movie screens at 8:00pm with FREE entry.

Quads & Cheese: A perfect match - Tuesday July 16
Come try some old beer and old cheese! Well, appropriately aged beer and cheese. We have managed to collect some kegs of our favourite Belgian brewed Quads and have even thrown on our favourite Australian Quad. As well as the kegs, we have vintages of Saint Bernardus ABT 12 from 2012, 2014 and 2023 Christmas Ale. Join in the fun with curated paddles and cheese plates available all night.

Bloody Bonza Belge: Belgian Inspired Aussie Brews - Wednesday July 17
With centuries of beer brewing tradition behind them, it is little surprise that some Australian brewers are more than a little inspired by Belgium beers. Without the burden of centuries long brewing tradition, Aussie brewers can tweak, modify and create uniquely Aussie versions of the traditional brews. Pop in for a paddle of our favourite Aussie Belgian Brews, including the launch of new Brissie brewing outfit, La Petit Rocher.

It’s a Belgian Christmas in July! This is your chance to don that ugly Chrissy sweater (without getting heatstroke) and get your best beer buds around to enjoy a fully Belge Christmas feast! Chef Thomas has curated a three course dinner paired perfectly to three Belgian brews. How does a terrine with Saison Dupont or Chimay Tripel with roasted turkey or even Saint Bernardus Christmas Ale with a chocolate Xmas Log sound? It sounds like jingle bells.

The Belgian Sessions - Friday July 18 to Saturday July 20
A big ol weekend celebration of Belgian beer. Each day will feature a huge two sessions of 12 beers each. This is 48 beers in 48 hours. We begin on Friday at 12:00pm, tap change at 6:00pm. Sleep. Saturday at 10:00am is Belgian Breakfast and 12 new brews, changed at 4:00pm to see the rest of Saturday out.
