Polish the mirror of your heart that can distort your true reflection. Drop the knife of self-judgment that can cloud your vision of your Divine Self. In this month-long e-course and in-person retreat, we will explore what it is like to drop self-judgment and open to the unconditional love already inside us. I don't know a more powerful or impactful teaching. As someone who has tended to be hard on herself her whole life, I am so grateful for spiritual teachings and embodied practices that have helped me find liberation again and again. It's an honor to get to share them in this summer series designed to help us Be the Love we are.
This course and retreat is part of a three-part summer series. Join the whole series or sign up for a specific month.
We start in April with dropping self-judgment, invite in Self-compassion in May, and practice Radical Acceptance and Creative Expression in June.
The world needs more people awake to the love they are at the core and sharing it with others. Nothing has been more crippling for me and those I work with on the path than doubting our worthiness of the inherent love we are.
The course gives you weekly practice videos and teachings that come to your phone or laptop for ease of practicing. The lessons help us reconnect to the Divine Self unencumbered by all the stories we tell ourselves and the judgments our egos heap upon us.
During the retreat, we will loosen our body armor through yoga, movement, Self-inquiry, a long yoga nidra, guided meditation, and singing. There will be a stretch of time for deepening into reflection at choose your own adventure stations set up for you: artististic expression, journaling, meditation, nature walking on the gorgeous land amidst animals alone or with a small group for more sharing/connection. We will end our retreat with a powerful ritual facilitated by Holly and songs led by the gifted vocal artist and song leaders TatiAnah Thunder and Mary Fithian.
The retreat is based on an integration of the work of radical acceptance by Tara Brach (Buddhist Teacher and psychologist), yoga and yoga philosophy, spiritual teachings from the world's great mystics, nervous system care science, eco-feminism and IFS parts psychology. Explore the sweet unchanging ground of being present amidst all that is changing by embracing ourselves exactly as we are and relaxing into loving presence.
Retreat Offers:
Yoga/Simple somatic movements to loosen our body armor and come into a relaxed presence
Long yoga nidra for resting in love
Guided meditation on embracing our True Selves
Self Inquiry and authentic connection/sharing
Options for Ala Carte Time before the letting go ritual: Journaling, Silent Meditation, Nature Walk on the Trails, Art Station, Connection/Sharing
Powerful ritual with singing to conclude.

Facilitators:
Holly Makimaa, CPS, CTSS, RYT200, interspiritual teacher
Holly brings over 25 years of combined experience leading retreats, trainings, and workshops. In all she does, Holly facilitates creative, body-based explorations that help us to remember and embody our true Sacred Selves, as mystics. She helps us remember the love we are beyond all nervous system states and circumstances. Her approach is embodied, contemplative, nature-based, creative, communal, and integrative—drawing on practices such as yoga, yogic Self-Inquiry, journaling, meditation, community ritual, and creative expression. She has spent 25 years in a yogic tradition and trained in two seminaries to offer interfaith, interspiritual practice-based experiences that resonate with people from different paths and beliefs. She specializes in nervous system care as part of a spiritual path.
Guest Teachers:
TatiAnah Thunberg, LMSW (she/hers) is a seasoned retreat leader, teacher, somatic therapist, vocalist and expressive artist with over 30 years of experience designing and facilitating transformative group experiences. Her work invites participants into embodied presence through co-creative play, community singing, contemplative movement and vocal improvisation—fostering aliveness, creative freedom, and belonging. Learn more about her at: https://www.spiritmoves.us/about-tatianah-artist
Mary Fithian has been singing and writing songs for over 40 years. She was introduced to women’s circles in the early ‘90’s and has been leading songs in rituals since then. Her singing comes from a deep connection to Spirit and her heart. She uses chants/songs to help facilitate sinking deeper into ourselves in preparation for deep listening and communion with the Divine within each of us.
