Whilst from your own homes – come and join us! We are excited to be facilitating creative ways to work with you in exploring what being a “difficult” woman means to you and other female participants in the workshop. We will use storytelling, your individual expression, poetry and collective stories to help you reflect and focus on your perspectives and ideas. We will be working in groups, in pairs and provide opportunities for personal reflection. Please come prepared with paper and pen at hand.
By the end of the workshop our aim is that you will come away feeling uplifted and proudly embracing the “difficult” woman in you.
Places are capped at 12. This event is for all cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space which centres the experience of women.

This class will be taught by Ruth Pitter and Vanessa Boyawar from Breathing Fire.
Breathing Fire Playback Theatre Company is a group of women of Afrikan / Caribbean descent committed to the empowerment of those who have historically been denied a voice. We are based in Bristol and are the UK’s only black women’s playback theatre company. We acknowledge that by sharing our individual and collective stories, we tap into the griot (Afrikan storytelling) which is grounded in our ancestral heritage.
We have delivered performances and workshops for all types of events, settings, communities and groups, including: Health and social care organisations, schools, colleges, universities; prisons; festivals; conferences; AGMs and team building days.
