Behind the business: Modern-day brewing at 71Brewing

Join CIMA for a relaxed and memorable summer evening in Dundee as we team up with 71Brewing and the wonderfully unconventional Canvas to bring finance professionals together for great conversation, great beer and even better company.

We’ll kick things off with an optional behind-the-scenes tour of the 71Brewing facilities (available at an additional cost). Learn how one of Dundee’s most exciting independent breweries brings its beers to life before heading over to Canvas for the main event.

At Canvas, everyone is invited to enjoy a curated tasting of 71Brewing’s beers, hosted in a venue as distinctive as the brews themselves.

Each attendee will be getting x4 third measures (approx. 190ml) to taste, the first two will likely be 71Brewing's classics: Cloud Fall & Haze Halo; the last two measures will be from their more eclectic beers and will hopefully give you something you have never tasted before.

We’ll also be serving up fresh pizza – because beer and pizza is a winning combination.

Once the tasting concludes, and to ensure a CIMA element in it all, we’ll hear from, qualified management accountant, who will deliver an engaging talk titled 'What Goes in a pint of beer.' Having previously worked for BrewDog for over 8 years, Ben will lift the lid on the financial realities behind brewing, exploring costs, margins and decision-making through the lens of a real product – making it especially relevant for finance professionals curious about manufacturing, pricing and value.

Once the organised programme wraps up, the evening is yours: relaxed networking, informal chats and community-building with fellow CIMA members and local finance professionals.

Whether you’re here for the numbers, the beer, the networking – or all three – this is a brilliant opportunity to connect, learn and unwind.
