Curious about herbalism but not sure where to begin? Beginning Your Herbal Journey is a foundational workshop designed to gently introduce you to the world of plant medicine in a way that feels grounded, practical, and inspiring.
In this introductory class, we’ll explore what herbalism truly is, and what it isn’t. You’ll gain an understanding of how herbal medicine has been practiced across cultures for centuries, how traditional and modern herbalism differ, and how a relationship-based approach to plants can fit into everyday life. We’ll discuss the philosophy of working with whole plants, supporting root causes rather than simply suppressing symptoms, and how herbalism can complement, not replace, other forms of healthcare.
You’ll also learn the most common forms of herbal preparations, including teas (infusions and decoctions), tinctures, salves, oils, syrups, powders, and capsules and when each is typically used. We’ll cover how to begin building a simple, intentional home apothecary with a handful of beginner-friendly herbs, along with practical guidance on storage, labeling, and shelf life.
Safety is woven throughout the workshop, including sourcing quality herbs, understanding contraindications, recognizing when to consult a healthcare professional, and respecting the potency of plant medicine.
This class is designed to feel approachable - no prior knowledge required. Whether you’re hoping to support your own health more naturally or simply want to deepen your connection to the plants around you, you’ll leave with clarity, confidence, and a clear next step forward.
Each participant will leave with a Home Apothecary Starter Kit that includes 10 herb samples so that you can take all that you learn and put it into practice in your everyday life.
