About this Event
From 1:00-2:00 pm, we host a beginning Argentine tango class led by volunteer tango teacher and event organizer Sandra Kistler. The class is open to all. This dance class is appropriate for total beginners and anyone who wants to work on their tango fundamentals. You do not need to bring a partner; students are encouraged to switch partners throughout the class.
From 2:00-3:45 pm, we host an open dance practica with DJ'd tango music. Everyone is welcome to ask others to dance.
Dance, practice, and socialize! Large, beautiful room - excellent hardwood floor. Everyone welcome: beginners to advanced dancers. Meet new friends and dance partners. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Everyone is welcome to lead or follow; switching roles is encouraged.
This event is not actually free, but it's the cheapest tango around!
$7 per event for non-members
$31 per year for members
To become a member of the Emeryville Senior Center, you need to fill out an application and pay $31 per year. You can do this in person at the center when you arrive (or after the class). Once you have become a member, this event and most other events at the Senior Center are included in your membership. You must be at least 50 years old to become a member, but you don't need to be a member to attend our event. If you are not a member, please bring $7.
