Take your calligraphy skills to the next level with Beginning Italic Calligraphy! As the second course in the beginner calligraphy sequence, this workshop introduces the elegant, versatile italic script—one of the most widely used calligraphy styles.

In this course, you will:

Learn the basic italic letterforms and how to write them with consistency
Continue refining spacing, stroke control, and composition
Work on finished calligraphy projects to build confidence
Gain a deeper understanding of calligraphy tools and materials
Develop an essential technique that will benefit you across multiple calligraphy styles
Draw and paint your own personalized decorated letter (a variation of the technique from Calligraphy 101)

If you've taken Calligraphy 101 (or have a basic grasp of calligraphy), this class will give you the tools to advance your skills and create beautiful, flowing lettering!

WHO: This class is designed for adults and mature adolescents.

PREREQUISITE: Calligraphy 101 (Beginning Uncial) OR at least 2 months' study of any broad-edge calligraphy style.

WHERE: Online via Zoom.

(LIVE interactive online workshop, 12 students maximum)

RECORDINGS: Available for review for an extended period.

WHEN: This class includes 8 weekly lessons,

on Tuesdays, May 6 through July 15, 2025

(NO class on May 27, June 10, or July 8),

from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Eastern Time.
