About this Event
If you’ve got a camera and feel like you’re not quite getting the results you want, this workshop is exactly where you need to start. This 3-hour beginner session in Canterbury is designed to take you out of auto mode and give you the confidence to understand and control your camera properly.
What to Expect:
We start with a relaxed introduction to get a feel for your experience level and what you want from the session. From there, I’ll walk you through the key foundations of photography in a way that makes sense—then we go straight out and put it into practice.
This is a hands-on workshop. You’ll be taking photos throughout, not just listening.
I’ll be there to guide you, adjust your settings, and explain things in real time so it actually clicks. I’ll guide you step-by-step so you not only learn the fundamentals, but actually understand how to apply them in real situations. No jargon. No overwhelm. Just clear, practical teaching that helps you improve straight away.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to move off auto mode with confidence
- Understanding aperture, shutter speed, and ISO
- How to get sharper, better exposed images
- Basic composition techniques that make a difference instantly
- How to start shooting in manual or semi-manual modes
Who This Is For:
- Complete beginners with a new camera
- Anyone stuck using auto mode
- People who want to understand photography properly
- Those looking to build confidence and consistency
Why This Workshop Works:
I teach photography in a way that makes it simple, practical, and usable.
You won’t leave confused—you’ll leave understanding your camera and knowing how to use it.
This is about building real confidence, not just learning settings.
