These popular walks are a great way for the curious to discover all about foraging from the wild hedge banks. They take place every Thursday morning (at 10am) from March to October.Find out how easy it is to identify and gather hedgerow plants on a walk through the ancient lanes and hedgerows or around the Cathedral Close. Learn which plants you should try and which you should avoid…
The route of our foraging walk can vary, but each route takes approximately 1.5 hours. It can be along unsurfaced green lanes, field boundaries or tarmac lanes and there will be some short, gentle hill work on each. The pace is always leisurely as we stop to chat about and sample the wild plants as we go along.
This course is suitable for adults and those over 13 years of age. We are hoping to put on child-specific sessions that are linked to hedgerow foraging and wild activities during the school holidays – watch this space!
