Beginners Belly Dance

Join Kathryn for an introduction to belly dance where art meets well-being. We will explore movement, dance technique, belly dance vocabulary in a fun a welcoming environment. As we progress, you will build strength and confidence while connecting to the rich cultural roots of this expressive and empowering dance form.

Each week we will start with a short warm up to release tension and allow movement into our bodies, following this we'll step into some belly dance movements and give them a go. Once we've explored some vocabulary we will put movements together in a short sequence and dance it out!! To finish we will stretch to bring all the yumminess of our dance into our bodies.

This supportive space is the perfect place if you've ever been curious about what it might feel like to express yourself through movement. Belly dance is inclusive of all body types (and no, you don’t need to have your belly out, although you're more than welcome!)
