About this Event
In this 6-hour class, you will learn a variety of beginner woodworking skills, as you make a beautiful wooden wine rack with a detachable tray on top. This class will focus on learning to cut and shape wood, as well as simple joinery skills. Students will learn:
- Proper use of a tablesaw, miter saw, and bandsaw
- How to cut curved lines in wood
- How to use a spindle sander to smooth and shape wood
- Simple joiner using a brad nailer and glue clamps
This class is beginner focused and participants are not expected to have prior knowledge of woodworking. The course is open to participants age 16 and over (participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult also enrolled in the class).
Note: There is a lunch break in the middle of this class while we wait for glue to dry. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch and hang out at the makerspace, or we'll happily suggest our favorite local dining options.
