About this Event
In this class, you’ll get a overview of the tools in The Foundry's shared woodshop by making a beautiful hardwood cutting board from a variety of different types of woods. Beginners enter this class to learn about using the planer, tables saw, router, and sander. Participants leave with a timeless keepsake, a personalized cutting board, and a whole new set of skills.
Skills/Topics Covered:
- Safely using woodshop tools
- Matching wood properties with intended use
- Selecting different types of glues used in woodworking and when to use them
- Applying and maintaining finishes and learning which finishes are food-safe
Class Cost: $100 (all materials included)
Class Size: Min 4/ Max 8
SAFETY- Please wear closed toed shoes for safety in the woodshop
This class needs to meet the minimum enrollment in order to run. If the minimum is not reached participants will be notified of the status of class the Monday prior to the first session. In case of cancellation, participants can choose another scheduled date if available or request a refund.
