Welcome to our shibari group classes!
These classes, held every first Wednesday at the spacious Nirvana Studios in City of Commerce, are designed for those interested in learning the basics of Japanese rope bondage. Our experienced instructor will guide you through the fundamental techniques and safety considerations of this dynamic and artistic practice.
Whether you are a complete newcomer to shibari or have some prior experience, our classes offer a welcoming and supportive environment for all skill levels. Come and discover the beauty and cultural richness of shibari as you explore your creativity and sensuality.
CLASS START TIME IS 8:00PM. DOORS OPEN AT 7:30PM FOR CHECK-IN. PLEASE TRY AND ARRIVE ON TIME AND HELP US STAY ON SCHEDULE.
The classes are designed for partnered learning, and attendees should plan on attending in pairs.
Things you should bring:
- Rope, a couple hanks 25-30ft in length each
- Yoga mat, exercise tiles or a thick rug to tie on. Floor is concrete, we will have enough exercise tiles for a dozen tying pairs on hand
- Comfortable clothing for rope
- A blanket to keep warm after tying
Water bottles will be offered free of charge. Loaner rope will be on hand, also available for purchase.
Emergency supplies will be on site in the form of safety shears and a first aid kit.
Photography will be allowed, we will have photo lights available. When taking photos please always make sure you have the affirmative consent of everybody in the frame.
