Have you always wanted to learn how to sew but didn’t know where to start? This friendly, practical workshop is designed for complete beginners who would like to learn how to use a sewing machine with confidence.During this relaxed and supportive class you will learn the essential skills needed to begin your sewing journey and start making your own projects.
By the end of the session you will put your new skills into practice by creating a finished item. You can choose to make either an envelope-style cushion cover or a lined tote bag, so you leave with something you’ve made yourself.
✨ You will learn how to:
• Thread a sewing machine and wind a bobbin
• Sew straight seams and turn corners neatly
• Explore machine stitches and features
• Recognise and solve common sewing problems
• Sew different seam types
• Finish edges and sew simple hems
• Add pockets and patches to projects
