If you are just starting out as a beginner working in a home studio, this workshop is for you! Join resident metalsmith Francesca Watson for a fun, two-day project that will introduce you to sweat soldering, working with wire sheet, and textured metal, and tube setting faceted stones. We'll also learn the fundamentals of using a jeweler's saw and make our own earwires! Along the way, we'll discuss the properties of sterling silver; why flux is important and which ones work best for silver; how to get a professional finish on your piece; and much more.
