A free, guided movement class for every body. No experience needed. Come curious, leave connected. Elmira NY | Mondays 6–7pm
About this Event

You don't have to be a dancer. You just have to be curious.

Beginner Movement is a free, guided class open to absolutely everyone. Whether you move every day or haven't moved "on purpose" in years. If you're a writer, artist, or creative who feels stuck. If you carry stress in your body and can't quite shake it. If you've always been a little curious about what it might feel like to just move freely then this is for you.

There's no choreography. Nothing to perform. No right or wrong way to be in the room.

What will happen:

You'll be gently invited to follow your own impulse and rhythm through simple, guided cues for breathing, sensing, noticing. The practice moves at your pace, with options to participate seated or standing. Often the noise in your head gets quieter and something in you opens up. People leave feeling more like themselves.

This is not about training or fixing the body. It's about remembering that your body already knows things and giving it space to express.

No Tickets---CALL 607-733-9173 X4 or CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP • SPACE LIMITED

Your guide:

Carissa Zalabany is a professional dancer, actor, yoga instructor, and movement educator with extensive experience performing and teaching in New York City, Los Angeles, and internationally in France, India, and Peru. Her work draws from classical and contemporary dance, theatre, yoga, and a BA in Psychology bringing together a deep understanding of the body, the creative mind, and lived human experience.

In addition to community classes, Carissa offers private one-on-one and small group sessions in your home or on location for those who want a more personalized experience in movement, yoga, or creative expression. This free class is a wonderful first taste of what that work feels like.
