In this two-day glassblowing intensive, students will learn to safely and confidently work with molten glass in the hot shop. On the first day, we’ll focus on gathering hot glass from the furnace, using hand tools, blowing a bubble, and practicing production-style blowing techniques. The second day will introduce sculpting wet clay molds and blowing glass into them to create unique shapes and textures. Throughout the workshop, students will receive hands-on instruction and demonstrations from an experienced instructor. By the end of the weekend, participants will have a strong foundation in hot glass techniques and the confidence to continue exploring the craft.
Students must wear closed-toe shoes and be ready for active participation, safety glasses will be provided by the studio, and all students are expected to stay for the duration of both class days. Those who have participated in a Make-Your-Own experience are encouraged to sign up, but no experience is required!
