About this Event
Kick off chain making skills, learning the secrets of the trade, in this 2-day workshop. Students will craft link designs of their choice and practice soldering techniques to create a beautiful bracelet or necklace.
1Start designing link shapes and sizes by drawing and making a sample link in copper. The final chain will be fabricated in sterling silver. Prepare each link and diligently solder the links into a chain. Students will finish by filing, sanding, and polishing. In addition to learning round chain making techniques, hammering tips, and pick soldering, they will be encouraged to create their own shape and size.
Final chains can be made into bracelets or necklaces with ready-made lobster claws or hand made closures, like a toggle or a shepherd’s hook.
Materials included: Sterling silver wire
