About this Event
Spend the morning learning and dancing 10 of the steps underpinning this beautiful and timeless art form, performed to some of ballet's most magical and enchanting music.
In this masterclass, we will learn 10 essential centre steps, which typically feature in all classes, from Beginner - Advance level and in the choreography of all major classical ballets. This is because these steps play an important role in linking movements together and in enabling transitions during travelling sequences and allegro combinations. You will have the opportunity to learn how to execute these movements and by the end you will even be able artistically piece these moves together to captivate your audience and perform like a true corps de ballet!
This experience includes:
6.30-7.15pm: Arrive and warm up with ballet barre, a series of exercises to strengthen the body performed to beautiful classical music
7.15-8.30pm: Centre work introducing you to 10 steps that underpin all ballet repertoire and variations. We will also explore how our musicality and artistry helps us to master the art of storytelling and movement
8.30-8.45pm: A short break and a chance to take individual and group photographs of your new moves (optional)
8.45-9.15pm: We will then practice combining the steps we have learned to form sequences and dance routines, taking inspiration from iconic ballets such as Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty
9.15-9.30pm: We will close the session with a cool down, using a combination of Pilates techniques and yoga stretches to re-centre ourselves and leave us feeling loose, refreshed and energised!
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity! Learn to dance with grace, poise and confidence, meet like-minded people and most of all, have fun!
