2026 "BUGS to MOZAM"
BeetleManiacs Classic Volkswagen Event to Mozambique.

REGISTRATION:
Entries on to register open 1st December 2025.
You need to Inbox Rudi to enter the registration from December the 1st. first 150 Cars registered will be in. anything after will go on a standby system, where I will register in one vehicle on standby first on list to replace one Vehicle falling out.
DATES:
BUGS on SAFARI (Limited to 50 vehicle Entry)
3 Nights starts 1st September 2026 leaving Durban up coast to St. lucia with 2 night in St. lucia and 1 night in Hluhluwe ending on the 4th September.
BUGS to MOZAM (Limited to 150 vehicle entry)
4 nights will start on Friday the 4th September entering the Mozambique border at Kosi Bay (just 2 hours north of Hluhluwe) or Komatipoort and finish on the Tuesday the 8th September.
the ADD ON EVENT:
"BUGS on SAFARI" 3 Nights
can be combined with doing
"BUGS to MOZAM" 4 Nights or could be done separately with either doing only BUGS on SAFARI or only
BUGS to MOZAM.
we recommend doing both, for Maximum Adventure, Best BUG Road Trip pleasure and shorter driving distances between

BUGS to MOZAM

> Destination - Ponta Do Ouro
Dates: 4th September to 8th.
ROUTE: VIA KOSI BAY BORDER or Komatipoort to Ponta
Highlights: Swim with Dolphins in the Wild, Beach Bar Hopping, Diving, Portuguese Cuisine, Experience Mozambique and Island atmosphere. Majority to departure Mozambique Tuesday the 8th September

ENTRY COST:
MAIN EVENT - BUGS to MOZAM
Limited to 150 Vehicles
R500 per vehicle Registration entry
will be charged to cover BeetleManiacs Event Host and Administration costs and Musicians performing. Including 3 Tickets per Vehicle for BeetleManiacs LUMO Beach Party.
SPECIAL EVENT - BUGS on SAFARI
Limited to 50 Vehicles
R400 per vehicle Registration entry
will be charged to cover BeetleManiacs Event Host and Administration costs.
Entering BOTH EVENTS COMBINED:
R750 Per vehicle Registration entry
will be charged to cover BeetleManiacs Event Host and Administration costs and Musicians Performing in Mozambique.
Including 3 Tickets per Vehicle for BeetleManiacs LUMO Beach Party.
ROUTES:
3 Main Routes Traveling in Convoy to Mozambique
Route 1 (YELLOW Route)
Starting from GP, EC, WC, NW, GP, FS, LP, MP on the 3rd September with an overnight stop in Nelspruit
to Ponta via Maputo and Komatipoort Border
Route 2 (BLUE Route):
Starting on the 3rd with an overnight Option in Pongola
from GP, EC, WC, NC, FS, MP, NW, KZN via Vryheid and Pongola to Ponta entering Kosi Bay Border on the 4th.
Route 3 (GREEN Route):
Group 1:
from GP, EC, WC, NC, FS, MP, NW, KZN via Durban before the 1st September to Join BUGS on SAFARI
Group 2:
Durban to Ponta via Kosi Bay in two Groups
Starting on 3rd from GP, FS to Overnight in Durban and Traveling up coast on the 4th to Ponta.
Any Travelers from other regions that wish to Join the convoys will need to make arrangements to meet on Route or to leave your locations a day or two earlier to join in on the BLUE, YELLOW or GREEN Route Plans to travel with larger groups to Mozambique

Durban Via GREEN Route is 441km
Bloemfontein via Vryheid to join BLUE Route 873km

ACCOMMODATION:
We like everyone to enjoy the same location at the Heart of the Main Beach where our vehicles are all safe and together.
Camping, Backpacking, Self Catering Units are all possible.
All Accommodation to be Paid directly at Accommodation Hosts at own expense.

LEGALITY for doing Main event Mozambique:
> You will need a valid Passport valid up the end of our September dates
> Children under 18 do need Passports and an Un-abridged Birth Certificates with permission letters from both Parents to cross border.
> Each Vehicle needs a Copy of its Natis in ownership of the Driver. If not the Driver, You will need Permission Letter stamp under oath from the owner with the Copy of the NATIS that you may cross the Border with it.
> Proof of Address and Booking at Location staying will need to be presented at Border
WORDS OF ENCOURAGMENT:
Your Classic Volkswagens can achieve a drive like this if well maintained and serviced. We will have parts and assistance with Independent Suppliers or Mechanical Services traveling with us (Fees Charged by them for Repairs or Parts). By traveling with our groups and convoys gives you ease at mind and buddies to help.
