The Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra (SCSO) is thrilled to conclude its 30th anniversary season with a unique artistic collaboration alongside the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera (SP&O), presenting Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 on the following dates at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center:Saturday, May 30, at 7:30 pm
Sunday, May 31, at 2:00 pm
Known for its ability to present large-scale choral-orchestral masterworks, the SCSO brings its large chorus, professional orchestra experience, and deep community roots to this monumental collaboration. Under the baton of SP&O Principal Conductor Ari Pelto, the SCSO Chorus will join with the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera Chorus and SP&O orchestra musicians to deliver one of the most powerful and iconic works in the classical canon.
This partnership represents a significant moment for Sacramento’s classical music community, uniting two of the region’s leading arts organizations in a shared commitment to artistic excellence, collaboration, and community connection. The combined choruses will create a powerful vocal presence that embodies the spirit of unity at the heart of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy.
