The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 75th Anniversary Season in 2024- 2025. Through the years, the FSO’s purpose has remained the same: to share beauty and inspire joy; to create meaningful experiences for families, friends, and neighbors; and to help cultivate generations of artists, educators, and leaders through its music education programs.The opening four-note motif of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony is one of the most recognizable and iconic sequences in classical music. Beethoven’s influence on classical music is immeasurable, and he left an enduring legacy that continues to inspire musicians and audiences. It is also known that Beethoven found inspiration in nature and often composed while walking in the countryside. He believed that spending time outdoors helped stimulate his creativity. FSO’s Beethoven 5K is a community run that celebrates classical music, nature, community and the 75 years of joy and inspiration FSO has offered to all residents of Flagstaff.
