About this Event
Beeston Fixers, are a group of community volunteers, who are ready to help you learn to repair your broken clothing and household items. We believe that there are many items that can be repaired rather than be replaced, or thrown away, and we want to 'Share the Repair' and involve you in the fixing. We also have a pay as you feel cafe, selling drinks and cakes.
- Appointments are limited to ONE per person, per event – PLEASE RESPECT this request to allow us to help fix other people's items too.
- SLOTS are 30 mins long, so if you bring an item/piece of clothing which goes over this time, the fixer may have to ask you to return with the item to be completed at the next cafe.
- Only book ONE TICKET for your item , NOT one ticket per person attending.
- SCROLL through the ticket types and book in for the FIX TYPE you require, e.g textiles/electrical/ general repair and the TIME SLOTwhich suits you.
- IF you are booking an electrical item ticket then please also EMAIL us at [email protected] and say what item you want fixing - if you know the make and model then that is useful infoemation too - and also let us know what the problem seems to be. This helps our fixers bring the right tools along. Many thanks.
- Take note of your ticket time! - As sometimes, the time is not clear when you print your info out.
- If possible, bring anything you can which will help us fix your item - e.g. if you need a new zip, please bring the zip along with you, and we can show you how to mend your item with it.
- TEXTILE SLOTS are to mend clothing, not to alter items, as this often takes longer than 30 mins.
- Adults and accompanied children welcome but, sorry NO dogs EXCEPT assistance dogs allowed inside.
- Refreshments will be available to buy, on a pay as you feel basis( proceeds go to help cover room hire and our other costs).
- We look forward to seeing you with ONE item , which you would like to learn how to repair.
************************* Small disclaimer ******************************
We’re happy to share our skills, and help you learn how to repair your item. but please be aware, a fix is not always possible, and it is your responsibility to take the item home whether it has been fixed, or not. We will of course try our best - and it may be, that even if we can not fix your item on the day, that we are able to point you the right direction, to know how to fix it in the future.
******COVID safety; Please do not attend if you have any symptoms.
We look forward to seeing you soon! : )
