About this Event
The Victorians were very keen on educational toys, including those which demonstrated scientific principles. Optical toys of all sorts were of particular interest, and they eventually led to the invention of moving pictures on film.
Local historian and retired theatre consultant Bob Massey unravels the story behind some of these fascinating optical toys and how they informed the work of our earliest cinema pioneers.
