About this Event

Lock 15 Brewing Co. & Royal Docks Brewing Co. are coming together to present a culinary experience. Join us in Akron, Ohio alongside the canal and Cascade Locks Park for this private event on July 18th at 6PM. You'll receive an 11oz pour of each beer offering, and carefully curated four course dinner.

1913 Pilsner -Czech style pilsner that has a light, crisp body and finishes with herbal and spicy notes with a refreshing hint of bitterness from the traditional Saaz hops used in this style. ABV: 5.4% | IBU: 33

20 Hour Sour Berliner Weisse- Tart and refreshing wheat beer style from Germany dating back to at least the 16th century. It Is Soured And Fermented With A Combination of brewer's yeast and lactic-acid producing bacteria. ABV: 5% | IBU: 5

Pendragon Spiced Whit- Refreshing and spritzy white ale brewed with unmalted white winter wheat along with many of the herbs and spices you'd expect from a beer brewed in the Belgian whitbier tradition- delicate but zippy coriander and orange peel among them. ABV: 5.3% | IBU: 18

Killer Fog IPA- The Killer Fog is a thoroughly dry hopped hazy NEIPA. The bitterness is rounded out with the delicious tropical, fruity, and herbal notes the hops Amarillo, El Dorado, and Huell Melon bring to this beer. ABV: 7.5% | IBU: 28

Downstream Jam Cherry- Tart tug-of-war between ruby red raspberries and the benevolent bacteria lactobacillus. It's prickly and floral, tangy with a touch of salt. ABV:5% | IBU: 22

A little more about the talent behind this event.

"I graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Chicago in 2016 with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts. I also interned for a seafood small plates concept before returning home to Ohio. I worked at Lago in Cleveland for 4 years, starting as a line cook and working my way up to Executive Chef in that time span. I also spent about a year with Leos Italian Social before joining Royal Docks.

Although most of my background is in Italian and more upscale cuisine, I prefer cooking with a more casual style . Using seasonal ingredients and making as much as possible by hand are the most important things I try to achieve in the kitchen."

"I started my career in the hospitality industry over 20 years ago as a server/ bartender and eventually transitioned fully to back of the house.

My first fine dining kitchen work started at Vaccarros Trattoria in Bath as a line cook, then Russo's in Hudson where I gained more experience on line and with pastry development and then was offered the Sous Chef position at Nuevo Akron.

After Nuevo's closing I bounced around at a couple different restaurants, including Lock 15, NoHi pop up, and most recently Franks Place on Market where my specials were featured.

Colin approached me the end of January with the opportunity of the Executive Chef position, which I enthusiastically decided to accept."
