Registration link is up!!! Ignore the "2023" part, but get your teams signed up! Captains: Message me with which distance your team wants to do: https://www.queencityrunningclub.com/trainingprograms/2018-beer-chaserIt's that time of year! Leaves are falling, runners are tapering, and beer is getting ready to be chased around Cincinnati. It's Beer Chaser VI!!! Registration will open soon, so start thinking about your teams!
The Beer Chaser is a relay race for Queen City Running Club runners and friends featuring teams of 6 that run to 8 breweries around Cincinnati. This year we will be featuring THREE course options: The full keg (8 breweries, 39.5 miles), the half keg (7 breweries, 31.5 miles), or the mini-keg (5 breweries, 29.5 miles). (See the first comment in the Event for the routes)
The Beer Chaser is open to all paces and abilities! At this point I anticipate a maximum of 20 teams. The cost is $150/team, which covers shirts, medals, insurance, and a charitable donation.
THE RULES:
1. No more than 6 runners per team. (5 people in a car and one person running).
2. All runners must turn in their signed waivers before they are allowed to run.
3. BE CAREFUL! Except for 0.3 miles at the beginning, the entire route is on sidewalks or bike paths. If you are caught running in the street or in an unsafe manner you are disqualified. This especially includes making dangerous crossings at intersections.
4. BE SAFE! This is an event from brewery to brewery, so limit your beer intake. Each team must have a designated driver. If you choose to drink at the breweries, do your drinking at the end of your leg you run. Not the start.
5. No inebriated runners. Teams with inebriated runners will be disqualified and permanently banned.
6. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL is allowed in the breweries.
7. BATONS: Each team is encouraged to run with a baton, which will be transferred to the next runner at each brewery. Make the batons fun. The brewery staff at Streetside will be announcing a “best baton” winner.
8. TRANSFERS: Your teams are encouraged to take a picture of the baton transfers at each brewery, and post it to the event Facebook page.
9. IT'S NOT A RACE: You do not have to be a speedster to participate. It's open to all skill levels and times. There are no specific prizes for first place.
10. If you get lost on a route, something happens, or you have a situation that needs attention during the event, please call your designated Route Captain.
