I am thrilled to announce that the beginners beekeeping course will be held again in 2026. I would greatly appreciate it if you could share the following flyer and information with anyone who might be interested in joining the course.THEORY
Saturday 7th & 21st March
PRACTICAL
Saturday 25th April & 9th May
Contingency date due to bad weather: 16th May
The two theory sessions are held at a venue near London Bridge, which is conveniently located within a short walk from the station. This venue is a purpose-built training facility, ideal for our course. The practical sessions will take place at the Ruxley Beekeepers apiaries, offering hands-on experience. We limit the course to 20 students. During the practical sessions, the class is divided into five groups of four students each, accompanied by an experienced instructor. This ensures that everyone can participate in the routine inspection of a bee colony - a hive.
The fee includes:
- A book by Ted Hooper 'Guide to Bees and Honey'
- Basic membership (Friend membership) to Sidcup Beekeepers Association
- Use of bee suits during the practical sessions
Best Wishes
Kirsty
