About this Event
Learn how landscape, climate, and floral sources shape the flavor of honey in this guided tasting experience focused on single-origin and specialty honeys from around the world. During this interactive workshop, guests will sample a curated selection of distinct honeys including buckwheat, acacia, fireweed, Brazilian, Vietnamese, and local Willamette Valley varieties while exploring the subtle differences in aroma, color, texture, and taste.
The class also includes a fresh honeycomb tasting straight from a capped frame, an overview of the honey extraction process, and light seasonal fare paired to complement the tasting experience. Guests will use the UC Davis Honey Flavor and Aroma Wheel to better understand tasting notes, color grading, and the complex sensory qualities that make each honey unique.
