Becoming a jellyfish: aquatic dance on land and in shallow water

Let`s dive into aquatic dance in warm shallow water of a cozy swimming pool Au bord de lèau.
We will explore the basic principles of aquatic movement and the incredible qualities of support that water provides to us. Dancing in water is liberating, as gravity does not limit us. On the other hand it requires fine tuning and listening to the flow of current, being at ease with the breath hold, spirals and release. We give up the fight in the water, we follow the flow, the pulsation, the fluctuation, in other words, become oceanic creature like jelly fish….
The workshop is taught by Tatiana Galibus, a certified freediver and artistic freediving instructor both in shallow and deep water, Continuum somatic flow practitioner, dancer and choreographer with 2 decades of teaching, performing and exploring the movement. I dedicate my life to speak the language of water.
Practicalities:
The workshop is divided into 2 parts:
11h-12h30: We gather in the cozy studio above the pool for land practice:
--breath exercises and equalization per the system of artistic freediving
--Somatic and biomechanical principles of aquatic movement: release, spirals, contact, basic developmental patterns
12h45-14h15: We enter the pool space to practice in water:
Exploring the density and the layers of water movement
Basic patterns of aquatic dance, gradually building vocabulary for combinations
Somatic explorations, and contact dance exercises
Playful jam in water: jellyfish time
