About this Event

Step into the world of biodesign and biomaterials with our full-day workshop, "Becoming a Bio-bricoleur." This comprehensive session begins with a lecture covering the fundamental theories of Biodesign and Biomaterial design, followed by hands-on practical workshops where participants can create biomaterials themselves.

In the practical workshop, we've set up four stations: Bioplastics, Biothreads, Screen Printing with Natural Dyes, and Recycled Paper. We've intentionally chosen basic tools to ensure that students can easily replicate the recipes at home.

The aim of the workshop is to spark participants' curiosity about biodesign and biomaterials, highlighting how these practices, often rooted in simple vernacular traditions, can offer innovative solutions for addressing the climate emergency. By engaging in hands-on activities and learning about the potential of biomaterials, attendees are encouraged to reconsider their material choices in art and design.

Join us for a day of exploration, experimentation, and empowerment in the realm of biodesign and biomaterials.
