About this Event
Every borough has its own rhythm, its own pulse led by young people. While community organisations keep finding ways to engage and uplift them, maybe it’s time we asked the real question: what do young people actually want from music and creative opportunities?
Beats & Boroughs returns this November for an evening of connection, creativity and conversation, uniting young artists, educators, community organisers and local changemakers to explore how we can work with young people across East London to inspire, engage and empower.
Part 1: Networking Event (5:30 PM – 7:30 PM)
Hosted by True Cadence and Boathouse Studios, with contributions from Community Albums, One Room Live, Community Music Service and more.
This youth-led gathering will feature live performances, short talks and open discussions on what young people really want from music education and creative opportunities. It’s a space to share ideas, meet collaborators and help co-create a new vision for music, culture and opportunity in our boroughs.
What to Expect
- Live performances from emerging East London artists
- Honest conversations with young creatives and community leaders
- Networking and collaboration opportunities
- Exploring how technology and AI are shaping music creation and learning
- Contributions toward the East London Youth Music Manifesto
- Free refreshments and a welcoming, creative community atmosphere
Whether you’re an artist, youth worker, educator or someone who simply loves seeing young talent thrive, this event is for you.
Part 2: Live performances and Open Mic (7:30PM – 10:30PM)
As the evening continues, the energy shifts to the stage - Live in the Randell style.
We’ll start with a line-up of featured performances from some of East London’s rising talents, then open the floor for anyone to step up and share their sound. Sing, rap, play or perform spoken word — the mic is yours.
Whether you’re an established artist or it’s your first time performing, this is your space to connect, collaborate and be heard.
