About the Adventure
If you adore Beatrix Potter, peaceful lake views, charming villages, and a good wander with friendly folk, this weekend is going to feel like stepping straight into one of her stories.
We’ll spend two days exploring the landscapes that inspired Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck and so many of her beloved tales. Expect woodland paths, sparkling tarns, rolling fells, ferry crossings, National Trust treasures, and scenery that feels wonderfully timeless.
Trip Summary
- Saturday: The full Beatrix Potter Trail (10.5 miles) ferry ride, fells, woods, viewpoints, picnic stop, and the chance to visit Hill Top.
- Sunday: A relaxed lake cruise, a scenic walk to Wray Castle, and time to explore the grounds before cruising back across Windermere.
This is a joyful, good-for-the-soul adventure, perfect for anyone who wants fresh air, friendly company, and a little bit of childhood magic sprinkled into their weekend.

Grade: Moderate – woodland paths, hills, and uneven terrain.
Accommodation: Choose your own (YHA, campsite, B&B, totally flexible).
