About this Event
Beaded Pin
Join Métis multimedia artist and ceramist Sabrina Boyer for a welcoming, beginner-friendly beadwork workshop in celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21st.
Participants will learn the basics of beadwork while creating a simple beaded pin—that you can wear with pride on Indigenous Peoples Day and beyond. This workshop is designed to be accessible to all skill levels, whether you’re completely new to beadwork or looking to reconnect with the practice.
The workshop is free for those who are Indigenous, Métis, or Inuit, and open to anyone interested in learning in a respectful and supportive environment. All materials and instruction are provided by the Art Gallery of Mississauga, and participants are welcome to take home any remaining supplies to continue their work.
This program is presented alongside the exhibition I’ve Been Here Before by land-based artists Cathie Jamieson and Jill Price, offering a meaningful opportunity to engage with artistic practices grounded in land, memory, and material.
Come spend time making, learning, and connecting through beadwork.
Funding for this workshop is supported through chartitable iniviatives from Rama Gaming House Mississauga and Charitable Gaming, Community Good.
